Mr Babatunde Aleshinloye-Williams, popularly called, Alesh, has won the People's Democratic Party, PDP, ticket, to represent Somolu Constituency ll, at the Lagos State House of Assembly, in the forthcoming 2019 General Elections.
Mr Aleshinloye-Williams polled 58 votes in a consensus election where he was unanimously elected as the Party's flagbearer.
It was all jubilation as the returning officer, Mr Eboda Olugbenga announced the result after conducting the primary election in a free and fair condition.
In a statement released to express his appreciation, Mr Aleshinloye-Williams thanked the entire leadership and members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as well as all delegates to the Party primary.
He said, he was deeply touched by the expression of confidence by the people of Somolu/ Bariga communities, friends, families and loyal supporters who generously contributed their time and effort to his campaign.
According to him, "I thank those who saw greatness In me and appreciates my zeal for positive change and human capital development".
He called on every member of the constituents, to fully entrust him with the responsibility of speaking on their behalf as their representative, saying he is committed to the course of improving human lives and will never seize to pursue diligently the development of Somolu/Bariga and the people.
The Party flagbearer who promised not to let them down, said he was committed to the Peoples Democratic Party and would support the Party to take over Government in Lagos come 2019.
"I look forward to the people of Bariga/Somolu to work with me as a team to advance this political project to a successful general election in 2019, which by His Grace shall be a landslide victory for the PDP in Lagos State and Nigeria in general", he said.
